When Bob and Judy would arrive at our home in Jackson, TN, all thoughts of business and work went out the window because they had arrived and had brought all their joy with them.  They loved to talk about their family and the various things everyone was doing.  I also remember Bob's humor when "something" triggered the latch on his trunk and it would open on its own.  The heavy chunk of stone is still waiting for Bob's trunk.  I always commented that, after they left, there was never any indication of their ever having been here (because everything was tidied) but that isn't exactly true.  I was always left with a warmth in my heart that glowed until the next time they showed up.  The glow will have to last a while now.  Would that it will.

I remember driving down the road singing to one of our southern gospel tapes that were were listening to for the 13th time straight!  I remember Dad volunteering the family to sing in front of the church "aculpoco".  When we said that we hadn't yet practiced, he always said, "We'll just wing it!"  I still carry that "winging it" habit with me today!

It is hard to sit here and share one favorite memory about my Dad.  There were so many things about him that made him such a great man and father.  He always made sure that he told us he loved us.
I remember many Sunday afternoons watching a Green Bay Packer football game or a St. Louis Cardinal baseball game.  I remember in 1993 going to a Cardinal playoff game.  He loved his sports.
He was so kind and gentle with us.  He loved to hug us and he loved it when we would sit on his lap.  I loved taking naps with him and laying my head on his arm.  He was such a loving father.  He is rejoicing in heaven and that is a great comfort to know that we will see him again someday.  The void that was left is a great one though.  I miss you so much Dad!  I love you and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you often.

Love you forever,
Ghost

I have so many memories of dad!  Every time that he saw you walk in the door his face would light up and he'd want to hug you!  I was always proud to be his daughter.  He was so good about taking us on vacation and about just being there when we needed him to be.  I loved going to eat at our favorite restaurants or going to get a thick milkshake at one of our favorite places.  He had the best sayings, that I now find myself repeating.  (ex. "Your dog's not in this fight."  "Let's do something even if it's wrong")  What a great guy!  He'll live on in my heart forever!

My favorite memories of Dad are when he would spend time with us all, one on one.  He had a way of making us each feel special.  He would take us to work with him sometimes it was almsot like  a “date” with daddy.  He always told us he loved us, hugged us, and held our hand.  He taught us how to play softball, fish, and mushroom hunt.  He taught us to work hard, play hard, and how to relax too.  He taught us to love Jesus, and I am so happy that I will see him again someday in Heaven.  I love you Dad!  I miss you.

Your brown-eyed one,
Audra
